What the numbers mean
A tackle is won when the defender takes the ball or it goes to a teammate. The raw count rewards players in sides that see less of the ball, because you cannot tackle while your own team is passing, so the leaders here are often the engine-room midfielders of the teams that defend the most, not the best defenders in the league.
The bars put each player against every Premier League outfield player with 180 minutes: tackles won per 90, the share of tackles that succeed, interceptions per 90 for the reading of the game, and duels won for the physical side. A full bar means the top of that group.
The list rebuilds every night from the latest matches, so it will move as the season goes on. The date on each card says when it last changed.

What counts as a tackle won?
A tackle where the defender comes away with the ball or it goes to a teammate. Attempts where the attacker keeps possession count as tackles attempted but not won, which is where the success rate comes from.
Why are midfielders above defenders?
You cannot tackle while your own team has the ball, so the count favours players in sides that defend more, and the midfielders who screen the defence see the most of the ball coming towards them. The bars show who wins the ball cleanly rather than who is busiest.
How often does it update?
Every night, from the latest matches. The order, the cards and the table rebuild together, and the date on each card says when the list last changed.
Reading the list
The count favours players who see a lot of the ball coming towards them, so a high tackles-per-90 figure with a poor success rate is a warning rather than a badge.
